Several of our posts have addressed different types of insurance coverage that you may want to consider purchasing for your own protection.  Medical payment coverage (also called “med-pay”) may be an important coverage to consider.  This type of coverage, that you buy from your own auto insurance carrier, provides coverage for all reasonable medical expenses that you or your passengers incur when you’re involved in an auto accident. Since 2009, all Colorado insurance companies must offer their customers a $5,000 medical payments policy.  Importantly, and unlike health insurance that may require you to reimburse accident related expenses, med-pay benefits do not need to re-paid!

There are many optional insurance coverages that you may want to consider, including gap, and uninsured and underinsured motorist.  See our Blog for information on these other coverages.
